Project D - Modern Legal Academy

Overview

Modern Legal Academy is an online learning platform I built to teach paralegals and legal assistants how to start their own freelance businesses and uplevel their skill sets. I used a platform called FEA Create and website templates to design a clean, user-friendly, automated digital experience. I also created e-courses using Canva. This project highlights my ability to build systems, digital workflows, create structured content delivery processes, and manage a full online platform end-to-end — all of which align directly with Legal Operations competencies.

I handled page design, branding, course organization, client onboarding, and backend process automation.

The Problem

To launch Modern Legal Academy, I needed:

A functional website that was intuitive and brand-aligned

An efficient content delivery structure for courses

Automated enrollment + onboarding workflows

A simple, clean user experience

A backend setup that was easy to maintain without developer support

A scalable system for future course expansion

I wanted to build a system that looked polished, performed well, and required minimal ongoing maintenance — but still felt personal and high-touch for users.

The Goal

Create a fully functional, engaging, modern digital academy that:

Matches my brand identity

Delivers course content seamlessly

Automates manual tasks (emails, enrollments, receipts)

Provides an excellent customer experience

Is scalable for additional training programs

Allows users to purchase, log in, take lessons, and access materials easily

My Role

I personally performed all tasks, including:

Building pages with FEA Create

Course structure buildout

Automating enrollment workflows

Setting up membership access

Writing and formatting course materials

Creating branded graphics using Canva

Testing user experience on desktop & mobile

Integrating email sequences & payment processing

This shows strong self-management, technical adaptability, system design, and project ownership — core Legal Ops abilities.

The Solution

1. I started by mapping out: Home page, About page, Course sales page, Course curriculum page, Checkout flow, Student login page

Lesson pages, Support/contact page

This became the digital “operating system” for the entire academy.

2. Branded, Custom-Designed Web Pages (FEA Create)

Using FEA Create, I designed: Custom section layouts, Button styles & interactive elements, Branded color palettes and typography, and Clear CTA pathways for user navigation.

This demonstrates front-end design experience and process optimization.

3. Automated Enrollment + Onboarding Workflow

The system uses an automated workflow that: Confirms purchase, Creates student account, Grants access to the correct course, Sends an onboarding email, Adds the student to the welcome sequence, and Tracks student progression

This reduced manual work and guaranteed a seamless user experience.

4. Course Delivery System

I created a structured lesson system using Canva that included: Organized lesson modules, Downloadable worksheets & templates

Embedded videos, Step-by-step instructions

This required information architecture — which is also a Legal Ops competency.

5. Backend System Design

I created: File organization system, Naming conventions, Content update workflow, and templates. There are also Automation triggers for abandoned carts, new sign-ups, and course completion.

⭐ Outcome

The result was a fully functioning digital academy that: Provides a smooth, intuitive user experience, Automates 80–90% of administrative tasks, Is scalable for new courses, Matches professional branding, and Supports both the business and the student lifecycle.
